Giving Spotlight: Girls on the Run – Sierras

Learn about the newest partner of the Panty Drop Giving Program

At Panty Drop, we believe we have a responsibility to use our business to inspire and develop the next generation of female leaders. That’s why we joined Pledge 1% and started a Giving Program to donate 1% of revenue, employee time and products sold to nonprofits that are helping close the gender leadership gap. Since we launched the program last year, we’ve been building it out and we’re excited to announce our newest giving partner: Girls on the Run – Sierras, our local council of the national Girls on the Run organization. We couldn’t be more excited to have them as our partner for our revenue and employee volunteering donations.

Why Girls on the Run – Sierras

Through the Panty Drop Giving Program, we support programs that inspire, educate, and advance female leaders-to-be, especially those from diverse and traditionally underserved backgrounds. As an organization that envisions a world where every girl boldly pursues her dreams, Girls on the Run – Sierras was a natural fit. Focused on girls in grades 3-8, they teach life skills and build confidence with 10-week programs that culminate with the girls completing a 5k run. Twice-weekly lessons and practice runs help girls build competence, develop strength of character, encourage care, create positive connections, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Last year, over 700 girls and running buddies crossed the finish line in the celebratory 5k run.

“As an avid outdoor sports enthusiast for my entire life, I can point to numerous instances where the confidence and persistence I learned through competing in these sports prepared me to take on leadership roles in my career,” says Founder, Julie Arsenault. “I’m so excited to have Girls on the Run – Sierras as one of our giving partners since their mission aligns so closely with ours.”
